Co‐worker peer effects on parental leave take‐up

We investigate co-worker peer effects in the use of parental leave Sweden. an instrumental variable approach called “peers peers”, which taken by family peers (siblings and cousins) co-workers is used as instrument for co-workers’ leave. For fathers, we find that a 10-day increase average increases their approximately one half days, while, mothers, day. The results are robust to alternative model specifications. explore possible mechanisms discuss policy implications.
